“Why did God allow this crisis?”
“Where is God when I need Him?”
Throughout the different seasons of our lives, many of us experience pain and suffering. We go through broken relationships. We face disasters and disappointments.
God knows the pain and suffering we are going through. He takes us on a journey with Him, in Genesis 37-50, so that we can see through His lens His invisible working behind the scenes of our broken lives. God’s faithfulness, His grace and His purpose shine through His intervention in the lives of Joseph, his brothers, and their father, Jacob. His absolute sovereignty over all people shows that God is the main character of this study, not Joseph.
This devotional has two sections – Personal Study and Group Discussion. The lessons are bite-sized, designed for personal meditation and life transformation. Groups may consider meeting once a week, for mutual encouragement and building faith in your discipleship journey.
“It is a book written in suffering and the uncertainty of earthly circumstances. Like hymns written by hymn writers going through personal pain and setbacks, this book has a depth and realism about it.” — Bishop Emeritus Dr Robert M Solomon, The Methodist Church in Singapore
